What is a sensor and how does it work?
An environmental monitoring sensor detects physical conditions such as temperature, humidity and CO₂ or other parameters. The sensor continuously detects these conditions and converts measurements into electronic signals that can be recorded by a data logger.
How do I choose the right sensor for my application?
Sensor selection depends on a number of factors, such as the type of asset being monitored, specific parameters to be measured, required accuracy, operating environment, connectivity, and regulatory requirements. Calibration needs, response time, sensor placement, and compatibility with existing monitoring systems can also be considered when determining the appropriate sensor(s).
How often should sensors be calibrated?
Calibration is typically performed annually, although frequency depends on several factors including regulatory requirements, internal SOPs, facility parameters, and GxP best practices.
Are Dickson sensors calibrated in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory?
Yes. Dickson sensors are calibrated in our ISO 17025 (A2LA, COFRAC and SAMM) accredited laboratories.
