About ISO 17025 Accreditation for EMEA
Born in 1994, COFRAC (COmité FRançais d'ACcréditation) is a non-lucrative organization. Established on public authorities demand, its mission is to ensure competency and impartiality that Conformity Assessement Bodies (CAB) that only have a control mission. To this day, it's the only French accreditation organization. Accreditation is synonymous with both the quality and competence of an organization, based on international standard(s).
Accreditation refers to the recognition given to an organization by an authoritative body such as COFRAC. It is a process by which an authoritative body gives formal recognition that a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) fulfills specified requirements and is competent to carry out specific tasks. NF EN ISO/IEC 17025 norms are reference quality standards applying to test and calibration laboratories. They're know and used in every laboratory worldwide.
