If your instrument turns off, check the AC adapter connection to ensure that it is working properly.

To remove a chart, cut the tape evidence seal. Push in on cover and lift up, then proceed to remove the chart.

Response time is slower to preserve battery life.

If there is not power to the unit, check that the AC power adapter is plugged in and working correctly.

In this case, the probe should be dried out in normal, ambient conditions. The time required for the dry out varies based on temperature, relative humidity, and air flow.

Open the front door and remove the battery. Remove the four screws in the corners of the face plate. Carefully lift the face plate out of the case. Move the clock motor switch to the left for a 7 day rotation and to the right for a 24 hour rotation. (SKUs: PR8-1000 PR8100PB24S PR8100PB7S PR8200PB24S PR8200PB7S)

Chart Recorders: Temperature and Humidity

If the sensor was saturated, the unit may return to normal after a few hours in a dry environment. Does the environment where the unit is being used have a humidity above 95% or condensing? The humidity sensor has possibly been damaged and must be returned for service.

The display will show “HHH” or “LLL” if the temperature goes above or below the temperature measuring range of the MAIN or REMOTE unit.

Chart Recorders: Pressure

If the pen does not respond to pressure changes, there may be a clog in the capillary. The unit will need to be serviced by Dickson.

If there was a momentary power outage, the unit may not have had enough time to recognize this and switch to battery mode. The Chart Recorder may lock up or shut off in this situation. This situation may also occur if the unit is plugged into an outlet that shares the circuit with other machinery that has phase motors or compressors that cycle periodically. As these other machines cycle, they momentarily have a high current draw, therefore drawing from the unit.
