Founded in 1967, Douglas Pharmaceuticals is a New Zealand, family-owned company that researches, develops, manufactures, and distributes pharmaceutical products to more than 50 countries. With around 500 employees and an international presence through its Australian subsidiary based in Melbourne, Douglas is one of the largest healthcare companies in the country.

Operating from an integrated site in Auckland that brings together corporate, manufacturing, and R&D capabilities, Douglas produces a range of dosage forms — liquids, soft gel capsules, and tablets — in full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and global regulatory standards. Within this structure, the Metrology team is responsible for ensuring the integrity of critical systems, notably by managing the calibration of equipment and measurement points across manufacturing and storage environments.

• End-to-end implementation support: Dickson supported Douglas through all key project phases — initial scoping, installation, commissioning, and operationalisation.
• Automated alerting and escalation: any deviation from temperature specifications triggers an immediate response through established escalation channels.
